(This applies to the lounge area only). Well, this is the second time that the bartender made up his own hours within the past year. Last time, he told me directly that he leaves anywhere between 9:45pm and 10:30. I guess his manager doesn't care? When I went down this time (a Thursday) for a nightcap and snack - he was already gone. Apparently they make up their own hours and split when they want. It's really too bad - because I've been staying at this place for over ten years and really enjoyed hanging out there. But it's become the point where I'll just walk down the street to a place where they follow a regular schedule & don't treat you like a burden. I'll leave it at 3 stars now & see what happens if I decide to come back.

I ate breakfast here one morning and then had a small dinner at 7 pm another evening. I was staying at the hotel where the restaurant is located, so it was convenient to do so.
The omelette and toast that I ordered for breakfast were made to order and tasty. I like simple, reliable food when I travel and they met the bill. Also, the coffee was better than most hotel coffee. The price was median range for this kind of location. The waiter was courteous and prompt, although his command of English was pretty limited.
For dinner, I ordered shrimp ceviche, which came with a side order of taco chips and salsa. It was pretty good, and the salsa was spicy and flavorful. I also had what is called on the menu a "mixed fruit torte". That turns out to be a chocolate lava cake in the center surrounded by four or five strawberry slices linked to whipped cream and chocolate syrup. The cake was good. I'm not sure why they call it "mixed" fruit, but the strawberries were store bought and fairly tasteless.
For a hotel, it was reasonable and affordable. That's about all I ask for. -

The only reason this restaurant gets two stars is because the breakfast buffet isn't horrible.
My family and I just ate here for dinner, and my poor husband is already starting to contend with a bubbly stomach, SMH.
Everything from the service to the food was extremely poor. When we first came in, we were the only people -- and yet, our waiter didn't allow 30 seconds to pass between his "Y'all know what y'all want?" requests for our order. Sorry we took a while, but with two kids and only one adult menu to scan through, we need a minute.
(We also had to serve ourselves the water from the pitcher next to where he was standing ...)
Our dinner was beyond horrible which makes me question why the place was so empty. I ordered the Mediterranean salad with no red onions (I have a gag-gag relationship with them) which, of course, came diced and plentiful on my salad. Once I got a replacement, I had to weed through endless pieces of wilted lettuce, kalamata olives that looked like they sat out too long, and interesting-colored red tomatoes (they were brown).
My husband ordered the grilled mahi-mahi and shrimp in a parmesan cream sauce (sidenote: Isn't it a sin to put cheese on non-battered fish??) that looked like a thick and unappetizing paste -- not including the dry and overcooked rice. The fish had an interesting and sometimes squishy texture to it that made us question the freshness -- and is likely the culprit giving my guy stomach issues as we speak.
My kids got the cheese pizza that came was super doughy with cheese that was so thick (not in a good way) and tough, you could rip pieces off to spell your name. The chicken tenders were also underwhelming.
... And my Coke was watery and a bit flat. (Seriously, how can we mess up a soda, lol?)
With all the amazing places to eat around the area, I would not eat dinner at this place if you paid me and told me Oprah herself would be there. The breakfast buffet had better options, food, and service.
This was perhaps one of the worst dining experiences and meals I've ever had. -

Wow, bad of me not to check Yelp before eating here. I was staying in the hotel so convenience drove my choice. It's silly expensive and doesn't deliver quality for the price. I ordered a Croque Madame and let me just say....what I was served is not a Croque Madame. I got two pieces of bread, a slab of ham on top and an egg? Breakfast sandwich yes...Croque Madame....No. They charged $14.00 for the sandwich. Adding insult to injury they charge $5.95 for a glass of soda and to that I say WTH!!! RIDICULOUS!!! if I had known the cost in advance I would have just had water. So many great places to eat in SD this isn't one of them.
